Cadwyn Clwyd have launched a new project called Green Communities, funded by the Welsh Governments’ Enabling Natural Resources and Wellbeing (ENRaW) Scheme.
The project’s aim is to support community-led projects and help them to achieve green initatives, in addition to supporting Covid recovery and green growth at a community level.
Green Communities will be offering up to £30,000 to 30 rural communites in Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy and Wrexham to take part in the project, who will be selected through an open call process.
Some examples of eligible projects are:
- Community gardens, allotments and orchards, woodlands, churchyards, rivers, and ponds
- Nature reserves and wildlife areas
- Community miles to connect communities and green transport including cycling networks and charging points
- Walking paths and circular walks around villages
- Community Buildings and community enterprises to undertake projects which contribute to SMNR such as small-scale carbon mitigation measures (such as but not limited to insulation, energy reduction)
Let us know if you’re interested. We can send you the Guidance notes and Expression of Interest form if you’d like to have a look at them.
We already drew up several ideas and we need only enough number of volunteers to get them off the ground. If you are willing to help our neighborhood become a resilient community, please take a look at the brochure and mindmap below:

This is the mindmap of an earlier funding application and – as you might have seen on the above brochure – some of the ideas are now existing initiatives (community groups and social enterprises).
Find the next dot or put a new dot on the map and let’s get it done together! ☺️
